Abstract: Asylum seekers and refugees face specific health challenges linked to their migration experiences, yet their health status remains under-researched in Italy. This study uses data from the ITRAS survey (N=1,327), conducted in 2024 as part of the AVRAI project, to examine the relationship between vulnerability and three health outcomes: self-rated health, mental health, and unmet healthcare needs. Logistic regression results show that economic deprivation, discrimination, female gender, and older age are associated with poorer health outcomes, while Italian social networks have a protective effect. The findings call for inclusive, gender-sensitive health policies that address social and economic vulnerabilities.
